NEET 2022: Application form to be released soon, when to expect exam and exam pattern


The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 notification and application form will be released soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on the official website of NEET-neet.nta.nic.in.


The NEET 2022 application process was expected to start in January. However, it may begin in March. The NEET examination could be conducted in June as it was pushed because of the Covid-19 situation.

The NEET exam is conducted by NTA every year for admission into undergraduate medical and dental courses including MBBS, AYUSH, BDS, among others. Over 15 lakh medical course aspirants are expected to appear for NEET 2022.

NEET 2022 application process expected date:

The NEET 2022 application process may begin in March due to the assembly polls and the ongoing situation in Covid-19.

NEET 2022 expected exam date:

The NEET 2022 exam could be scheduled for June. The dates can be decided depending on the Covid-19 situation at that time. However, no official statement is out yet.

NEET 2022 exam pattern:

The NEET 2022 exam is expected to be held on the new exam pattern offering internal choices to medical aspirants.

The NEET exam is expected to consist of 200 questions out of which candidates will have to attempt 180 questions. The NEET exam will be divided into three sections- Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with a total of 720 marks.

Out of the total of 200 questions, 100 will be in the biology section, which is compulsory to attempt, 50 questions each will be from physics and chemistry. Medical aspirants have to attempt 35 questions from the physics and chemistry section each. They will be eligible for four marks for every correct answer and one negative mark for every wrong attempt.

Will NEET 2022 exam happen twice?

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health discussed last year whether to conduct the NEET exam twice a year. However, no final decision has been made yet.

NEET aspirants have increased demand to conduct the medical entrance exam twice a year to give students an extra chance. The demand to conduct NEET twice a year got stronger after several suicides of medical aspirants due to performance pressure.
